Lockheed Martin’s Republic of Korea Science, Technology and Research (RoKST&R) program is a research and development organization through which Lockheed Martin offers both funding and mentoring to Korean universities and research institutions that are developing advanced technologies in line with Lockheed Martin’s core capabilities, including the following areas of interest:

Autonomy and Robotics

  • Multiple unmanned vehicle command and control
  • Dynamic mission/route planning
  • Human-machine concurrent learning and Human-machine modeling, simulation and assessment

Signal Processing and Communications

  • Near real-time understanding and identification of electromagnetic spectrum
  • Cross platform coordination in stressful information environment

Data Analytics

  • Efficient methods for large and high-velocity data set computation
  • Data conditioning techniques using novel algorithms
  • Cognitive computing and deep learning methods

Through the program, Lockheed Martin is developing partnerships with world-class Korean universities and industry to develop unique and rewarding combinations of invention, innovation, engineering and systems integration to bear on problems of national importance

Lockheed Martin, along with a panel of industry peers and local university faculty and staff, announced the 2016 call for abstracts to the larger community of universities and research institutions in Korea to invest in research projects through the RoKST&R program. Winning proposal teams will be mentored throughout the duration of the project and receive monetary funding from Lockheed Martin to support research.
